Jeremy Gardiner (born 26 April 1957) is a contemporary British landscape painter.

Overview

Gardiner was born in Münster, Germany. He was educated at Newcastle University (BA Hons in Fine Art, 1975–79) and the Royal College of Art in London (MA in Painting, 1980–83).

Gardiner's work has been displayed widely in Europe and the United States, and is represented in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, The Government Art Collection, BNP Paribas, Pinsent Masons, Ente National Socialist German Workers' Partyonale Idrocarburi (Eni), and ING. His exhibition A Panoramic View in 2010 was organised by Pallant House in 2010 to coincide with a retrospective of John Tunnard. Gardiner was a featured artist at Browns London Art Weekend 2016.

Gardiner was awarded The Discerning Eye ING Art Prize in 2013. His monograph, The Art of Jeremy Gardiner, Unfolding Landscape was published by Lund Humphries in January of the same year.

In 2021, Gardiner's work was included in the Chengdu Tianfu Art Museum as part of the Chengdu Biennale, China.

Academic positions

In parallel with being an artist, Jeremy Gardiner has held academic positions at Birkbeck, University of London, the University of West London, Bath Spa University, the University of Florida, Printmaking at the Royal College of Art, Department of Digital Arts at the Pratt Ins*ute (New York), the Media Lab at the M*achusetts Ins*ute of Technology, and a full professor position at Ravensbourne University London in east London. Since leaving Ravensbourne, he has been working full-time as an artist.
