Ismat T. Kittani
Ismat Taha Kittani (Arabic: عصمت طه كتاني; 5 April 1929 – 23 October 2001) was a Kurdish politician, most notable for being President of the United Nations General *embly during its thirty-sixth session in 1981 and 1982.
Early life
Kittani graduated from Knox College, Illinois in 1951 with a degree in political science and English. At Knox, Kittani was a brother of the Delta Theta chapter of Sigma Nu fraternity. He returned home to join the Iraqi foreign ministry in 1952.
