Jimmy Dale Long Sr. (born October 6 1931) is a former Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives. He represented District 23 (Winn and Natchitoches parishes) from 1968 until 2000 being the dean of the Louisiana House when he returned to private life. He is a recognized authority on educational policy. For sixteen years he chaired the House Education Committee.
