Zhumaliyeva, who stands 1.79:m (5:ft 10+1⁄2:in) tall, competed as one of the 33 finalists in her country's national beauty pageant, Miss Kazakhstan, held on September 19, 2010, in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where she became the eventual winner of the *le, gaining the right to represent Kazakhstan in Miss World 2011, where she finished 10th place out of 113 contestants. She also won the Top Model award.
