Nie Gannu

Biography:

Nie Gannu was a modern Chinese essayist. He was born in Jingshan County Hubei province and studied in the USSR in the 1920s. In 1927 he returned to China and joined the League of Left-Wing Writers four years later. During the Second Sino-Japanese War Nie Xia Yan Song Yunbin Meng Chao and Qin Si worked as redactors of the magazine Yecao. During the Chinese Civil War his prose collections In blood and Muttering were published.
