Manuel de Aspiroz

Biography:

Manuel de Azpiroz was a Mexican statesman and diplomat. He was born in Puebla Puebla and was educated at the University of Mexico where he took his degree in 1855. He took part in the overthrowing of the emperor Maximilian I of Mexico and in 1867 on the establishment of the republic was appointed assistant secretary of state for foreign affairs. In 1873 he became Mexican consul at San Francisco where he remained till his election to the Senate.
