Biography:

Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo is a Somali politician. He is a longtime member of government having served as Minister of Commerce of Somalia among other Cabinet positions. During the 1980s he also acted as Chairman of the Somali National Movement. Mohamoud is the current President of Somaliland a self-declared republic that is internationally recognised as an autonomous region of Somalia.
