Alfred W. Bethea

Alfred William Bethea known a Red Bethea (June 20 1916 - September 13 1999) was a farmer from Dillon County in eastern South Carolina who served as a Democrat in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1961 to 1966. In 1970 he left his party to run unsuccessfully as the nominee of the American Independent Party for governor of South Carolina.
